Cannot find TNG files

Guest Posted: 01.06.2006, 07:57
Unregistered User I am using PostNuke 0.7.6.2 and pnTNG 2.16. After installing pnTNG 2.16 and activating the module from PostNuke I attempted the setup of pnTNG from the admin menu of pnTNG.

pnTNG was not able to locate the TNG files as displayed in the following. config.php is present in the the genealogy folder. I removed my URL and replaced with ???? for security purposes.

Checks based on last saved settings:
Settings imply TNG can be accessed directly at http://?????/genealogy
Trouble:Looking for TNG config.php file in http://??????/genealogy
Trouble:Should match TNG Genealogy URL of Could not find TNG files

Les,
It looks like for the 2nd setting, you have entered an http:// address. What is really needed there is your local file system path that points to the directory where your http://?????? gets its files. For example, mine looks like (actually it doesn't, but is similar to): /homepages/htdocs/postnuke
If you are running on Windows, you will likely need the drive letter out front.

Unregistered User Wendel thanks for the prompt reply.

I still don't get it. Here is how I have TNG5 and pnTNG installed:

root directory I have the genealogy folder (TNG5 resides here)
root directory I have the PostNuke folder (resides here)
PostNuke/modules (pnTGN resides here)

Unregistered User Wendel, I managed to solve the problem using my FTP program and recording the path to the system files. To correct the setting I used the following:

Checks based on last saved settings:
Settings imply TNG can be accessed directly at http://??????/genealogy
Correct:Looking for TNG config.php file in /home/mygeneal/public_html/genealogy
Correct:Should match TNG Genealogy URL of http://???????/genealogy

Thanks again for the support.

Les,
I'm glad it's now working. Did the hint under the 2nd setting box show up for you? It should have given you the path all the way to your postnuke directory. It should have shown you /home/mygeneal/public_html/PostNuke

Unregistered User Sorry for the delayed response. I have been trying to find a PostNuke theme that will work with TNG5 template 5. I have settled for the default theme of SeaBreeze and with the help of pnTNG I now have things under control. Great job on pnTNG!

Yes, after looking closer the 2nd box setting box helped a lot. Getting that configured helped with screen bleeds into the PostNuke theme.

I expored your site this morning and have picked up some tips in displaying my genealogy. Great job in putting everthing together. It defintely take time.
