Hi,
I have been using TNG for postnuke for over 2 years without problems. However, yesterday I decided to upgrade my TNG from 4.0 to 6.0.4. Most everything was ok except I couldn't display any of my photos because it was pointing to the wrong directory. I checked and double checked my admin settings, etc., but still couldn't find the problem. I also was having problems with the ancestors, descendant tabs. I think the problems are related so I decided I should upgrade my postnuke addon.

This morning, I downloaded and installed pnTNG but now I'm getting worse errors. After initializing and activating pnTNG I went to select my options for the new pnTNG module but when I click on the module in PN Administrations I get the following error:

Fatal error: Smarty error: [in pnTNG_admin_menu.htm line 2]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'admincategorymenu' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 556) in /home/biddly1/public_html/includes/classes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1083

I am using Postnuke v .750. Could that be the problem? Do I need to upgrade my postnuke version also?

Sue,
Two things could be going on. As you mentioned one could be Postnuke v.750. Starting with v6 of TNG and pnTNG 3.xx, I've increased the Postnuke version requirement to v.76x. I would really recommend you update to .764 anyway. There are a number of security issues with .750. I know it can be a pain, but it is the right thing to do.

Second, there are a set of changes that you must do at this time. See

TNG 6.04 and pnTNG 3.04 are in an odd state at the moment. I had a couple of bugs in pnTNG and TNG had a couple of bugs that only people using CMSs (like PostNuke) would see. So hopefully once TNG 6.05 comes out, I'll release pnTNG 3.05 and all will work well together again. For the time being, if you are OK editing a couple of files, you can make it work. I'm running it on this site.

If you get in a bind with the edits, send me a note to pnTNG@voigtworld.com and I can email you the edited files.

Thanks for your reply, Wendel. I reverted back to before I installed the pnTNG module just to get my site viewable again. I am able to view data without the pnTNG module, using the old Robert Penrose addon, but I cannot view my pictures (since my TNG upgrade). Either way, I will wait until I upgrade my postnuke version....when I have a whole weekend with nothing else to do! Maybe by then 6.05 & 3.05 will be out because I saw all the code that needed to be changed and knowing me, I'd miss something and screw things up even more.

Thanks again,
Sue
