  • Notes 
    • Ernst worked on several of the military bases in San Antonio, helped construct the U.S. 81 bridge over the Guadalupe River, operated a family dairy in Solms, TX, and retired in 1966 from U.S. Gypsum where he worked in maintenance. Ernst was a member of First Protestant United Church of Christ, Solms Bowling Club (9 pin) and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was also a musician (trombone) with the Henry Beck Band.
