      Margaret Marge Helen (Palmer) Eckermann went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 3, 2008 at the age of 83. Marge graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1943 and attended Business College, graduating as a stenographer. She worked at Fort Sam Houston as a secretary with the Army Reserves for thirty years, retiring in 1983. During her years of service, she and her husband Ray were Directors of the Adult Department at Trinity Baptist Church where they were members since 1955. She was the State President of the Texas Rural Carriers Auxiliary from 1976-1977. During this time, she raised two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James B. Palmer and Margaret McStravick; daughter, Janet Lynn (Eckermann) Buendia; and son, Charles Norman Eckermann. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Raymond Ray Clyde Eckermann; son, Raymond Bayard Eckermann and wife Suzana (Koehn), and son, Robert Wayne Eckermann and wife Dawn (Alexander); 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was loved by many people and will be missed dearly. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Sunset Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. There will be a reception at Trinity Baptist Church following the services.
