      Marvin John Schaefer
      Marvin John Schaefer, age 83, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2004 in New Braunfels, TX.
      He was born to Walter M. S. & Emma (Tonne) Schaefer on February 11, 1921 in Cranes Mill, TX. Mr. Schaefer was a member of the American Legion and the VFW in New Braunfels. He was a veteran of WWII serving as an interpreter in the intelligence area. In 1957 & 1958 he served on the School Board of the Schertz Cibolo School District.
      He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Edna Real, Viola Zuercher and a brother Curt Schaefer, Sr. Survivors include: wife of 62 years, Viola Ruedrich Schaefer, of 62 years, of Cibolo; daughter, Mary Louise Borman & husband Charles of Cibolo; beloved granddaughters, Channa Eckert & husband Tom of Bryan, TX, Melody Borman of Montgomery, AL and beloved great-granddaughter Emma Elisabeth Eckert of Bryan, TX; sisters Ida Burkhardt of Schertz, Wally Weidner and Nelda Voges, both of New Braunfels.
      Visitation was held on Monday, July 12, 2004 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 12:45 PM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel 12 with the Reverend Charles DeHaven officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements with: Schertz Funeral Home
