Stanley was born in Houston, lived in Sealy while he was growing up attending school there, joined the Air Force, became a radio technician, worked at electrical design and instrumentation. The family spent several years outside of Texas in the Air Force and returned for a while to Houston to live. In 1983 he moved with his family to Schoenau are in Texas where they build a home in the Mill Creek bottom on Schoenau Road. He became self-employed with Lunbeck Electric Company.
