      Lanard was a farmer, served as butcher for the Schoenau Beef Club, worked ten years for the Houston Post distributing the Sunday paper to rural people, worked at Eckermann's Meat market, and worked many years with the Columbus Livestock Auction Company. He was a life long resident of Schoenau, Texas.
