Other documents indicate he served in the Home Guard for over a year. States that the family lived in the Industry, Texas area, sold their farm in 1863 and moved to Willow Springs in Fayette County. Henry Moeller became a citizen of the United States on 12 June, 1866. The certificate of citizenship was filed in Bellville, Austin Co., Texas. The information from Germany came from church records located in Suelbeck, which is south of Stadthagen.

Family tradition states the family was from Wuertenburg and also near the Swiss border. Mary lived with her son Fritz and his wife Anna after the death of her husband. In about 1910, Fritz moved his family and Mary near Miles, Runnels Co., Texas.
